Big Water is a photographic study of Virginia’s Eastern Shore.

What began as a detour became a five-year journey documenting the quiet beauty of Virginia’s Eastern Shore—a region shaped by water, agriculture, and the rhythms of daily labor. Through this photographic series, I aim to reveal the understated elegance found at the intersection of land and sea, purpose and place.

The photographs are made using black-and-white film and printed by hand as platinum palladium prints, a process chosen for its tonal range and permanence. This slow, deliberate approach mirrors the way I move through these landscapes—observing light, weather, and subtle shifts over time.
